Interview with Dr. Josef Köstlbauer w/ host Royce.G - 001
In our vary first episode, we will be interviewing Dr. Josef Kostlbauer from the Bon University in Germany. Who is a co-author and editor of the book and research project “Continent Allegories”. The objective of this conversation is to get a better understanding, on photos taken of fresco paintings and statues that have been circulating the internet. Which portray 16th, 17th and 18th century depictions of so-called “Black” Indigenous American and Indigenous African Nations side by side in some of the oldest churches, monasteries and castles across Austria, Germany and other parts of Europe. We will go into an in depth conversation about why these paintings look the way they do, and why these multiple artists chose these specific depictions for their paintings and statues for more then two centuries across Europe.
